Hello Readers! My name is Cammie Kramer and I am the owner of Sugar & Spice Scrapbooks. Let me tell you a little bit about how this shop came to be.

In the late 1990s, I teased my mom about the time she was spending on her creative photo albums. That teasing is what I later began referring to as “the scrapbook curse.” Let it be known, my friends, when you make fun of someone for their scrapbooking habit, you are destined to close the house down at the midnight crop; have stashes of paper, stickers, and die cuts; become the paparazzi of your family; in short, you will become obsessed. The thing is, the obsession is awesome! You get these amazing books that highlight the best and craziest moments of your life and your family; and we all know that scrapbooking is a wonderful and less expensive option than therapy. There are few things better than relaxing with your pictures and a little creativity. Even better is getting together with your best scrapbooking buds to laugh, eat, share memories, and create. (It never hurts to throw in a margarita or two on those girly-girl scrapbook nights either, though keep it to a minimum or the laughter tends to take over the level of scrapbooking efficiency.) I know all of this from a healthy dose of personal experience and an exuberant passion for scrapbooking.

Sugar and Spice Scrapbooks began as a retail store in Louisville, Kentucky. My mom, Milla, and I opened our doors and our hearts to so many customers we soon grew to call friends. Being able to make a living by doing something that you love is a beautiful thing. However, despite all that beauty, it also came with its fair share of stress. Having a storefront requires much time and as two gals who placed family as the top priority, the time took its toll. We closed our doors in 2004, but held onto many of the friendships we’d made through the store. We continued to host scrapbooking get-togethers and to this day, look forward to the monthly events.

Wanting to get back to making scrapbooking a business, I began thinking of doing “classes in a kit.” My own scrapbook pals loved it when I would create page kits for everyone to do because it took the time out of gathering materials and designing a layout; plus, it allowed the gals to pack light for the crop instead of lugging loads of materials to the events. The kits allowed everyone to copy the page as is or change the layout to create something unique and add a personal touch. I figured if we all loved them, maybe other scrapbookers would see the value in my page kits as well.

My goal with Sugar & Spice is to build a company that allows us to love what we do, love our families, and love life. All that warm and fuzzy stuff creates a win-win situation for Sugar & Spice Scrapbooks and its customers. When you love what you do, the product will show it. I strive to bring you the very best 12x12 page kits for an affordable price. I spend time creating great designs so that you can just grab a kit and get started. By saving the time of compiling materials and planning layouts, you may actually get caught up on all those pictures you’ve finally gotten printed . . . or maybe you can just enjoy an extra margarita at the next crop with your scrapbook gals.
